FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Short for cannabidiol, CBD is a compound found in the cannabis plant that has recently emerged as a breakthrough ingredient with a multitude of benefits. From a topical standpoint, CBD is rich with nutrients including antioxidants and essential fatty acids that are crucial to promoting healthy hair and scalp. As a cannabinoid, CBD is able to integrate with your body’s endocannabinoid system, making it naturally receptive to its benefits.

Absolutely! We understand there is a lot of confusion about the legality of CBD, but the biggest determining factor is where the CBD is derived from.

There are different strains of the cannabis plant categorized under two main umbrellas: marijuana and industrial hemp. As of 2019, CBD derived from hemp is legal nationwide! This includes all hemp-derived CBD products like oils, ointments, shampoos, and all of our products!

All states, now that the hemp bill passed in 2018, making hemp-derived CBD federally legal, and thus legal in all states!

No, as we mentioned above, CBD derived from industrial hemp is THC-Free, so our products don’t contain the compound that makes you high.

We like to say that healthy hair begins with a healthy scalp, and CBD is an essential ingredient in providing nourishment and balance to your scalp. It contains all 21 known amino acids, and is rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants, which are beneficial to hair and scalp health.

The CBD used in all EMERA products is derived from the stem and stalk of the hemp plant.  Because of that, it is THC-free and non-psychotic.

Our hemp-derived CBD is derived from reputable sources in Kentucky and Colorado.  We third party test all of our CBD products to ensure that they contain the level of CBD claimed, and that they do not contain THC.

We use 62.5 mg of CBD in our 10 oz. Shampoo and Conditioner; 156 mg of CBD in our 25 oz. Shampoo and Conditioner; 50 mg of CBD in 4 oz. Detangler Plus; 125 mg of CBD in 10 oz. Detangler Plus; 100 mg of CBD in 4 oz. Scalp Therapy; 250 mg of CBD in 10 oz. Scalp Therapy; 20 mg of CBD in 2 oz. Serum.

CBD is rich with nutrients including all 21 known amino acids, plentiful antioxidants and essential fatty acids like Omega 3, 6 and 9,  that are crucial to promoting healthy hair and scalp. The amino acids help to strengthen and nourish hair, restore scalp balance, and in doing so, promote healthy hair growth, while the essential fatty acids lock in moisture and give hair and scalp needed hydration.  CBD is also known for its calming and soothing benefits, which can help to alleviate common dry scalp conditions. The antioxidants in the CBD, along with other botanicals in every EMERA product, give hair and scalp needed protection from environmental and other everyday stresses.

Yes, there is no reason you can’t use EMERA on your skin as well as on your hair, to add needed moisture and nourishment.

We suggest you check with the state or country in which you are traveling to.  The EMERA products (which contain CBD that is THC-Free) are legal in all but 4 states and a growing number of countries.

EMERA is safe and effective for use.  However, we would always suggest you check with your doctor for the best products for you to use during your pregnancy.
