Project Description
Practical tips for keeping your hair healthy in all weather.
Well not yet (at least not in Southern California where Earthly Body resides), but with summer over, get ready for that nip in the air that signals it’s time to change up your hair care routine, the same way you change up your fashion when the new season starts, and tips on how to keep your hair healthy in all weather!
With cold weather on its way the scalp is more prone to dehydration, leading to a dry scalp and dry, brittle hair. Don’t forget that those ever-harmful UV rays can be equally present even if it’s not hot – robbing hair of needed moisture. To combat these effects, keep your head moisturized – scalp and hair. A moisturizing masque or scalp treatment, like EMERA Nourishing CBD Scalp Therapy, can do wonders to rejuvenate and hydrate scalp and hair.
What to use:
Make sure to use a sulfate-free shampoo, which is gentler on your hair and less prone to remove essential oils. If you can skip a day or two of washing your hair, even better.
Use a towel or t-shirt to remove excess moisture instead of using a blow dryer every day. It’s a gentler way to dry your hair. And, allow your hair to air dry whenever possible. If you’re going to use hot tools, try to avoid using them at the highest temperatures (400+ degrees).
Stay out of the sun! Just like you want to avoid excessive sun on your face, so too should you avoid those harsh UVA rays on your hair that sap needed moisture and dehydrate hair. If you are in the sun, wear a hat.
Speaking of hats, to avoid “hat hair” keep a defrizzing serum (such as EMERA Nourishing CBD Serum) handy to tame and keep hair looking sleek and shiny. Use only a small amount though, and pat gently onto dry hair.
Above all, enjoy the changing weather, knowing you and your hair can be at their very best, and that you can keep your hair healthy in all weather!
